The Big Clean consists of decluttering and deep cleaning of a residential space. Garbage and unwanted items are removed from the customer’s home and a major clean takes place. This deep cleaning will include cleaning and disinfecting surfaces, bathrooms, kitchens, walls, floors, baseboards, interior windows and carpet cleaning if needed. We will also support our customers with organization and provide them with basic organizational techniques.
The Big Clean and maintenance, consists of the decluttering and the deep cleaning of a residential place. Garbage and unwanted items are removed from the home and a major clean takes place. This deep cleaning will include cleaning and disinfecting surfaces, bathrooms, kitchens, walls, floors, baseboards, interior windows and carpet cleaning if needed. We will also work with our customers to teach the skills needed to maintain a clean and organized living space. This will consist of one 8 hour major decluttering and clean, followed by three bi-weekly 2 hour visits. Working with our customers to not only maintain the cleanliness of the first clean but giving them the skills and confidence needed to maintain their living space independently.

We acknowledge that hoarding is a mental illness and for many individuals, their attachment to the items they have surrounded themselves with is overwhelming and each item holds great meaning and value. How would we approach such a situation? With empathy and compassion. Utilizing CBT counselling, goal setting and teaching organizational techniques, we will work collaboratively to address the clutter. We know that going in and cleaning up will not resolve the issue and the customer may meet that approach with resistance. For this service our cleaners and counsellor will use a therapeutic approach to work with the customer, providing goal setting, emotional support and behavioural modifications.
The Compassion Clean consists of an assessment visit and follow up visits. For a hoarder having someone entering their home can be a very stressful event. We would come in with one cleaner and a counsellor on the first visit to assess the situation and set goals with the customer. Walk them through the process with the intentions of building a relationship of trust, and providing them with information and resources they can use to move forward with the process of decluttering and cleaning. This also gives the customer the opportunity to meet some of the people that will be helping them achieve their goals, ask questions and share their hopes and fears. The following visits will consist of cleaners and a counsellor working with the customer to meet the goals that were set in the initial meeting.
